Commerce Journal Covers Team Elevator's Victory

It was one of our dismissals last week when I saw an ex-orgmate, MJ, who was carrying a stack of Propaganda (College of Commerce's newspaper). I called his attention and asked a copy of it since the night before, I read a friend's plug about the said newspaper.

Having scanned the titles of the articles, the word "ELEVATOR" caught my attention. I remembered that I was the one who suggested the name for the team. I actually got that idea from our very first experience as a team being with each other when we went to Philippine Stock Exchange. Going back, my curiosity and excitement moved me to read the whole article immediately.

The next photo is the actual copy of the article: "Team 'Elevator' climbs to 3rd at PMA-AMRC" (PMA-AMRC stands for Philippine Marketing Association - Agora Marketing Research Competition)

It's funny how I woke up one day and realized that I was already a part of the team I never imagined myself being in. I meant, Agora is Agora. By just mentioning it's name, marketing-minded students already know what Agora is all about. For those who don't know Agora, it is the most prestigious competition in Marketing. Yeah, the most prestigious, as said by our team coach.

SIX MARKETING MANAGEMENT SENIORS, carefully chosen from across the college's 8 sections of Marketing Management. (4M9 was excluded for some equitable reasons).

During one of the earliest meetings that we had for this competition, our coach shared that it wasn't easy for him to arrive on our names. What he did was he laid all the master lists of 8 sections and wrote the names that he thought could be part of the team, and went on to the same process until he ended up with the last 6 names left.

Having gone through the article, I was surprised when I read my ideas (proposed strategies) on the newsprint. Fulfillment to the next level, I say. And that "Ant System" that I proposed, got a lot of people's attention, not to mention the attention of Silverbox' owner herself. Though, this article got the wrong idea about the strategy. It's not ant print-outs; it's something more. Deeper.

This segment got my heart when our coach mentioned the highlighted part. It was so humble of him to say that. If he only knew how beyond honored we felt like having him as our coach. He's the best, ever!

I couldn't agree more when our coach mentioned that it was not an easy win! It definitely wasn't easy, most especially on my part. Aside from the sleepless nights dedicated for the marketing plan, we all invested so much emotions; yet, every pain was worth-it. Very worth-it.

Just like what I have been mentioning to my friends when we talk about Agora, I owe a lot to it. I learned how to push myself beyond my limits. And to tell you, it wasn't easy as it sounded. Through this team, I knew myself better and I couldn't be any more thankful than this, EVER.
